Giving Back With Brixton Soup Kitchen (@brixsoupkitchen)

‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar used to say that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

“Spread (the greeting of) Salam, offer food (to the needy), and be brothers as Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, has honored you.”‎

‎This Ramadhan in talks with Brixton Soup Kitchen, we (Brimah and John) have come up with a community charity project...‎And we need YOUR help 👀 ‎

Brixton Soup Kitchen has kindly shared their breakfast shopping list, and we need your help in providing breakfast for the homeless in sha Allah.

The plan is simple

Buy/bring something from the list below, and deliver it to Old Kent Road Mosque (SE1 5JH) on Eid day before 12 pm!

Meats & poultry (uncooked)

Canned goods e.g

    baked beans

    Tuna

    Tin soups

Eggs

Burgers

Breads

(or Anything breakfast related)

C'est tout lol

For those of you who'd like to get extra involved, the following Monday (20th July) in sha Allah we'll be heading over to Brixton Soup Kitchen to help, cook, serve assist with their breakfast rush, and interact with guests of the day #Woop

(Located at Brixton Dominoes Community Centre, 297-299 Coldharbour Lane, SW9 8RP)

Spaces are limited for volunteers, so let me (NBJ) know asap if you're interested.

Jazakumallahu Khair ❤️❤️❤️

I pray Allah accepts all our acts of Ibadah, forgives our sins, strengthens our bond with Him and between ourselves, keeps us firm on the straight path, makes us from amongst those whom He grants shade, and unite us in Jannah with our beloved‎ (SAW)

'Abdullah bin Salam (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "O people, promote the greetings, feed (the poor and needy) and perform Salat when others are asleep so that you will enter Jannah safely."

Can't come but still want to help, click the paypal link below...

If you can't make it down, but still want to get involved and support us you can donate towards the project! We sincerely appreciate every little thing. Anything that doesn't go towards costs, goes straight to brixton soup kitchen to assist them further.

However the aim is also to encourage actual involvement with the community, particularly from our youth. We want to show the value of our actual input, where the money goes, and the non-monetary priceless impacts we can make as individuals on the community, Ummah, and world bi'ithnillah x
