Umm Sulaym was one of the first women of Yathrib to accept Islam. She was influenced by the refined, dedicated and persuasive Musab ibn Umayr who was sent out as the first missionary or ambassador of Islam by the noble Prophet.
Muadh ibn Jabal was a young man growing up in Yathrib. He was a handsome and imposing character with black eyes and curly hair and immediately impressed whoever he met. He was already distinguished for the sharpness of his intelligence among young men of his own age.
Al Miqdad sought protection from a man called Al-Aswad bin `Abd Yaghuth, they became so close that Al-Aswad decided to inform the Quraysh that he was 'adopting' Al Miqdad, he declared he was going to be his son. Al-Miqdad then became known as Al-Miqdad ibn Aswad.
Sa'd ibn Mu'adh, The throne of Allah shook on his death, the doors of heaven opened to welcome his soul, and 70,000 Angels came down especially to accompany the janazah of Sa'd ibn Mu'adh. He's the only man that we know, that the Prophet (SAW) told the sahaba to stand up for, he told them "Stand up for your master".
I engaged in fighting and started protecting the Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam with the sword while at the same time, shooting arrows until I was wounded.
