Airport chronicles - The Lady who left an impact on me

The Lady who's small act of kindness left an impact on me...

Interesting things always happen when I travel, and I always want to share the stories with people... But then I never can be bothered!!

Ima keep this one short and sweet and in sha Allah try to share more

In the prayer room for some reason I found myself watching this East-Asian appearing elderly lady. She was gentle in her movements and watching her brought me some sort of calmness.

"...I thought she'd left altogether, so I grabbed a blanket she had folded up..."

When we entered the mosque she was praying, after Fajr she sat and made du'a for ages! Then she left for a while...

I thought she'd left altogether, so I grabbed a blanket she had folded up.

She came back shortly after and I realised they might have been her blankets. But as she didn't say anything, I politely asked her if they were hers to which she nodded. So I folded the blanket up and gave it back.

"Gotta love small actions that give off warmth and touch hearts..."

She then grabbed a skirt (the ones left in the mosques for people to halalify their outfits) and spread it on me. I love her for that.

Following that she grabbed a Quran and sat reading. SubhanAllah everything she did in the 1.5hrs we were in the prayer room was ibaadah.

It looked like routine for her. She looked content. At peace. Observing her brought me calmness.

She didn't do much, but she left an impact on me. She was happy to let me use her blankets, she chose not to disturb me when she had every right to request her belongings back. Even after that she took the extra measure of ensuring I was still covered, before continuing her day. Gotta love small actions that give off warmth and touch hearts.
